Choosing a way

Every machine has its own machine id and password. Your company's administrator gets them when adding the machine in Machine setup (see Setting up machines). The password is shown once.

WaySuits
Node-RED with the Kealink nodeA gateway that already runs Node-RED. Needs only the machine id and password.
MQTTGateways, PLCs and software that stay connected
HTTPDevices that wake up and post, scripts, and anything behind a firewall that allows only HTTPS

All three take the same payload and follow the same rules. Readings sent over HTTP go through the same pipeline as MQTT, so alerts work the same way.

To get data out again, use the API or webhooks.

First message

  1. Add the machine and copy its id and password.
  2. Send one message with the names your equipment already uses.
  3. Open the machine's setup page. Names that match no reading are listed there, each with a button to add it as a reading.
  4. Send again. Values now appear on the machine's page.

Over HTTP the reply already lists names that matched nothing, with a hint where Kealink can tell what was meant.
